Sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate is a white, crystalline solid with the chemical formula Na₂S₂O₃·5H₂O.  It's a hydrate, meaning it contains water molecules bound to the sodium thiosulfate. It's commonly used as a laboratory reagent, in photography for fixing images, and in water treatment to remove chlorine.

Uses :-

• Laboratory Reagent: Used in volumetric analysis and other chemical reactions.
• Photography: A fixing agent to remove unexposed silver halide crystals from photographic film and paper.
• Water Treatment: Neutralizes chlorine in water, used for dechlorinating swimming pools and wastewater.
• Cyanide Poisoning Treatment: An antidote used in conjunction with other treatments.
• Other Industrial Uses: Includes leather tanning, paper pulp bleaching, and as a component in hand warmers.
